There are applications those needs more storage space than it's available in xTAB-50 GPS device inner memory. In these cases it is needed to use a memory card. But there are applications that does not support installing and running from memory card in Android 4.0 system. The solution for these cases is to change default pathes for inner and external memory. After the changes take effect all installed applications will be installed on memory card, so memory card is needed to use the device.

 

To change default pathes follow steps below:

 

1. Download the file below

2. Unzip downloaded file and copy content to root folder of memory card.

3. To make modification you will need a proper file manager application (e.g: root explorer, root browser etc.).

 

In the example below we use root explorer to make modification:

 

4. Open root explorer.

5. Look for mnt folder and open it, open folder extern_sd and look for vold.fstab in root.

6. Tap and hold it, then choose Copy.

7. Step back to root then look for etc folder, open it.

8. Tap on paste button, then application asks to overwrite file or not. Choose Yes.

9. Tap and hold on vold.fstab file then choose Permissions and set rights as following: rw-r--r--

Save changes by tapping OK button.

10. Restrart device.
